RANCH OPENING: Our Goal is January 2024

About the Ranch for Kids

The Ranch:

Restored Wings (RW) has provided hope and restoration to adult female survivors of human trafficking for over 10 years, but now we are expanding to help trafficked children.

Restored Wings Ranch is a comprehensive residential program and safe house for young female survivors of sex trafficking. Restored Wings Ranch also prevents sex trafficking of children by providing trauma resolution to children who have been sexually abused.

RW has purchased a large property that will be a safe and peaceful refuge for child sex trafficking survivors. The RW Ranch for Children will be a home that will focus on recovery from the many different levels of complex trauma after sex trafficking including Organized Ritual Abuse Trafficking (ORA, RA. Equine-assisted psychotherapy:

An evidence-based complementary treatment that incorporates interactions with horses. It’s a collaboration between the participant, therapist, and equine specialist.

This is one area that equine-assisted therapy proves particularly useful. The approach reduces anxiety, increases self-awareness, and breaks down the barriers that an individual may have built up through their mental illness. Each of these are integral to overcoming PTSD symptoms and starting the path to healing.

Why We Need a Ranch for Kids

Girls who have been trafficked experience physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual repercussions from the trauma of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Many survivors experience multiple mental and physical health-related issues:

  • Physical health problems associated with the many beatings and rapes, including broken bones and the need for wound care;
  • Lack of medical and dental care
  • Have been religiously abused therefore organized religion is a trigger
  • Have been forced into Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) and may suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
  • Reproductive health problems, including exposure to HIV and other STDs, pregnancies, and fertility issues;
  • Malnutrition
  • Mental health problems, including Complex PTSD and somatic complaints (headaches, chronic pain) resulting from the trauma, and others listed below; and
  • Alcohol and other drug use with addiction, as well as sex addiction
